How to pray for world missions
“With this in mind, we
constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his
calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of
yours and every act prompted by your faith.”
(2 Thess. 1:11)
Use the following outline
in praying for missionaries:
Their Relationship with
God:

To have a consistent and profitable devotional
life and enjoy good times in the Word.

To be aware of God’s power.

To possess a vibrant sense of God’s
leadership.
Their Relationship with
Family:

To experience a healthy marriage.
-
To set aside quality time with spouse and
children.

To provide peace and comfort for parents and
loved ones at home.
Their Relationship to Other
Missionaries:

To submit humbly to one another.
-
To acquire fluency in the language.
-
To willingly learn from the nationals.
Their Adjustments to
Emotional Needs:

To be assured of the Father’s love and that
they are in His will.

To sense fully Christ’s presence in their
lives.

To take time for relaxing from duties and to
enjoy personal interests.
Their Adjustment to
Physical Needs:

To maintain good health.
-
To be protected and safe.
-
To have financial needs met.
Their Adjustments to Being
Effective in Ministry:

To receive open doors to evangelism and be
alert to those open doors.

To communicate the gospel with care and
passion.

To use time efficiently and effectively.
