Dana and Sherry Howard are global missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene. They are assigned to Ecuador, South America, and left for the field in January 2004.
Dana graduated from Nazarene Bible College in 1992 with an A.A. degree in Biblical studies. He received a B.A. in religion from Mid-America Nazarene College in 1993, and a master of divinity with an emphasis in missiology from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1996. Sherry attended Mount Vernon Nazarene College and Nazarene Bible College.
Prior to their appointment, the Howards moved to Alberta, Canada, in 1996 to plant the North Country Community Church of the Nazarene in Grande Prairie. Dana also served as adjunct faculty at Peace River Bible Institute from 1999-2002, Williamson Bible Institute 2003, and Seminario Nazareno Quito, Ecuador 2005.
Both Dana and Sherry share a missionary call. Sherry felt God’s call at age nine in Cumberland and has since reconfirmed this call. Dana sensed God calling him to prepare for missions in 1988 in Santa Rosa, California, when a missionary from Australia spoke. Dana's prayer was, “Lord, if you can use me on the mission field, I'll go. Just show me.”
In Ecuador, Dana assists the field strategy coordinator in administration, church development and evangelism. Sherry's main responsibility is child sponsorship and taking care of their children: Christian, Courtney, Candace and Christa.
